Help for the SalesTeam Chrome extension: getting your first scan running, the questions people ask most, and how to reach us when something does not work.
Your first scan
- Pin SalesTeam from Chrome's extensions menu, then click its icon to open the side panel.
- Open Scanner and add a Topic: a name, plus keywords one per line.
- Stay signed in to LinkedIn in the same browser. SalesTeam uses your own session and never asks for your LinkedIn password.
- Click Scan All Topics. Nothing runs until you click it.
- Open the Posts Dashboard to see your results ranked from P1 (contact today) to P5.
Optional AI features (prioritization, drafted messages, web research, Sales Mentor and Customer Voice) need your own Anthropic API key, added under Settings → Anthropic API Key. Scanning, filtering and the dashboards work without one.
Common questions
Does SalesTeam scan on its own?
No. Every scan starts with you clicking a button, and nothing runs on a schedule. A built-in daily activity limit stops long runs automatically.
What does "Irrelevant" mean, and can I undo it?
A lead is marked Irrelevant when it matches one of your Negative Topics, such as a competitor or a recruiter's post. Hover over the status pill to see which Negative Topic and keyword matched. Edit the Topic and click Apply Negative Filters to bring leads back to New. Statuses you set yourself (Dismissed, Contacted, Responded, Converted) are never changed by filters.
Why doesn't a lead have a priority yet?
Either it was scanned before you added an API key, or prioritization was skipped. Click Prioritize Unscored Leads on the Posts Dashboard to score every unscored lead in one batch.
How do I change many leads' status at once, and undo it?
Filter the table to the leads you want, then click Bulk Change… under it. It shows how many leads will change and asks you to confirm. The same dialog has Undo Last Bulk Change for the most recent change.
How do I build a list of target companies and contacts?
Either import your own research spreadsheet from the Target Accounts Dashboard (Import Research Workbook…), or run the Setup wizard and use Discovery to find companies and contacts on LinkedIn. Then let SalesTeam look up each company's LinkedIn ID, so post searches can be limited to your target companies.
Where is my data stored, and how do I back it up?
Everything stays in your browser. Under Settings, Backup saves your data to a folder you choose, now or on a daily schedule, and Restore brings it back or moves it to another computer. Your API key is left out of backups unless you deliberately include it. Uninstalling the extension removes all local data.
A scan looks stuck. What should I do?
Every step of a scan is time-limited, so it should end with a result or an error message. If nothing changes for several minutes, stop the scan, reload the extension from chrome://extensions, and try again. If it keeps happening, email us at the address below.
Can using SalesTeam affect my LinkedIn account?
SalesTeam is built for personal use: you start every scan, it runs visibly in your browser at a measured pace, and a daily activity limit stops runs automatically. We cannot promise how LinkedIn applies its terms, which can change and are yours to follow. Please read our disclaimer and LinkedIn's own terms.
